Race ServicesEach registered runner will receive a long sleeved 100% cotton t-shirt, timing by Champion Chip, and race number. Goodie bags will be distributed to the first 10,000 registered runners. All finishers will also receive a commemorative medal and results will be posted on this site following the event.
TimingAll runners will receive a chip at packet pickup. This chip is to be affixed to your shoelaces. They will register when you cross the start line. Chips must be removed at the finish line. A $50 fee will be charged for unreturned chips. Post Race ActivitiesFinish FestivalThe Finish Festival Area on the front lawn of the Museum of Science and Industry will be bigger and better than ever! Some of the highlights will include:

Overall Awards CeremonyPrizes will be presented to the top 3 overall male and female finishers and top male and female masters at the lawn stage at 10:30am. Also, prizes will be sent to top 3 male and female finishers in the following age groups: 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+ (top overall finishers are excluded from age group awards).

PaceDue to the fact that our scenic running course uses a large part of busy Lake Shore Drive and that there are numerous churches, harbors, a golf course and other institutions and organizations along our race route, we ask that our runners keep a minimum per mile pace. In an effort to open the course back up to the community, participants are required to race at a 13 minute mile pace. The expected finish at this pace is 2:50:21. Runners exceeding that pace may be asked by a course marshal or Chicago Police officer to finish the course on an adjacent sidewalk. Thank you for your understanding. |
